John's First Father's Day & Jaclyn's Three Month Pictures

We decided to take Father's Day pictures along with Jaclyn's 3 Month pictures, since the two occasions were only a week and a half apart. Because the pictures were for Father's Day, John got to choose her outfit for the pictures. I think you can definitely tell that she's "Daddy's Little Girl" in these!!!
Jaclyn had just discovered how fun it is to stick out her tongue earlier in the week. This is John's favorite picture!

If you can't read it, the shirt says, "My First Athletics Tee." Mommy got a couple of girlie pictures in that day too. Hopefully next month we'll be able to get professional pictures of her beautiful smile. She hasn't been to happy at her "photo shoots" lately. ;o(

FATHER'S DAY WEEKEND...
The night before Father's Day, Jaclyn got ready with a nice warm bubble bath...

Grammy bought Jaclyn a new outfit for Father's Day
Mommy bought Daddy the perfect Ice Cream cake! The sign on the couch says "World's Greatest Sports Fan..."
...and the Television even had football on!

The best news of the week came the Wednesday after Father's Day. If you didn't know already,John was displaced from our school because the sixth graders were being sent to the middle schools. He went on a list of 160 Displaced teachers from other schools who either taught sixth grade, lost their position, or had their school closed. He was number 142 out of 160 people to pick a job for next year, so we were very worried about where he might end up next year. We were really hoping he would either end up at our school or at the middle school where our sixth graders were headed, but were definitely scared there wouldn't be anything open at either site with 141 people getting to pick a job before him. To our surprise; however, when it was his turn to pick, there was only one job left, out of the 25 on his list that he would be interested in, and it was a 4th/5th combo at our school!!! So, not only will we still be working together, but we will also be teaching the same grade level! Our prinicipal and staff were ecstatic to hear the news! I for one, was quite relieved; John does so much at our school, and it would have been impossible to fill his shoes! Many of our students have emailed me on myspace to make sure he was still going to be there next year, but I did have a couple of sad and disappointed emails when some of our alumni found out that he would NOT be going to the middle school. Jaclyn and I are so lucky to have such a wonderful man in our lives who makes such a difference with all of the students we work with!!!

Jaclyn's 14th Week

We started being able to sit up in our Bumbo chair this week. She can hold her head up for almost twenty minutes in this chair! We also have been laughing a lot lately; earlier this week, she completely chuckled back and forth with Daddy.
Would've been cuter if I didn't chop off the top of her head.

We're noticing a lot of red in her hair now. We think she might be a strawberry blonde or an auburn baby. You can see it alot of it in this picture.
This is a new face too!

Jaclyn's 13th Week

Jaclyn spent the morning playing with her Daddy!

I think we had one like this earlier, when you compare them, you can see how much she's grown!

After so much playing, it's time for a nap!

Jaclyn made it to our end of the year party. It was a luau, so I got her a hawaian dress for the occasion.

My boys on the last day of school. Jaclyn and I had to come visit. Mrs. Carter took Jaclyn with her 1st graders so I could hang out with my kids for a little bit

Ms. Lopez, Mrs. D, and Amelita

5th grade ROCKS! Here's me, Cristina, and Lacey (my AMAZING long-term sub)!

And here's me and Jeremiah Lacy at the 6th graders vs the teachers softball game. (I actually hit the ball at this game, unfortunately, it went straight into DeJone's glove!)

Jaclyn's 12th Week

This was a really fun week. We had lots of reasons to dress up this week. This picture was before Steph and Dillon's wedding. We had to use the blanket to make sure Jaclyn didn't spit up on me before we left. We LOVED the tuxedos Dillon picked out. They were dark brown with pin stripes and a gold vest. The boys all looked great; there are more pictures later in the post.
Here's Jaclyn in Daddy's favorite PJ's...
Mommy and Jaclyn with Mommy's Student Council. We did a fundraising contest with the mall all year and came in 5th place out of 16 schools. We earned $750 for the school!

Mommy and Jaclyn before Steph and Dillon's rehearsal dinner. Their wedding colors were yellow and brown, so Great-Grandma Dinwiddie bought her an appropriate dress for the occasion.

Apparantly, great minds think alike...Alisha showed up with a dress that matched Jaclyns!

Casey with Jaclyn, she's 24 weeks pregnant (or was in this picture) and having a little girl also.

Here's a good picture of Casey's bump!

Unfortunately, our district is having budget problems, so not only did we have to say goodbye to our 6th graders this year, but also to our 5th graders. The middle schools are now going to be 6-8, instead of just a 7-8. The only question now is where John is going to work. This is our "Last Minute" 5th grade promotion; we did the best we could with three days notice!

Here's part of my student council at the 5th grade promotion.

Here's our 5th grade group A...

...and Group B (we team teach, so decided to call the classes A and B, instead of Dinwiddie/Lopez, so the kids understood that we were both their teachers)

I had to put this picture in; this is before 6th grade promotion. This is Lil' Gippy, Nick, and Jhaylen. Don't they look cute?
