We decided to take Father's Day pictures along with Jaclyn's 3 Month pictures, since the two occasions were only a week and a half apart. Because the pictures were for Father's Day, John got to choose her outfit for the pictures. I think you can definitely tell that she's "Daddy's Little Girl" in these!!!
Jaclyn had just discovered how fun it is to stick out her tongue earlier in the week. This is John's favorite picture!
If you can't read it, the shirt says, "My First Athletics Tee." Mommy got a couple of girlie pictures in that day too. Hopefully next month we'll be able to get professional pictures of her beautiful smile. She hasn't been to happy at her "photo shoots" lately. ;o(

The best news of the week came the Wednesday after Father's Day. If you didn't know already,John was displaced from our school because the sixth graders were being sent to the middle schools. He went on a list of 160 Displaced teachers from other schools who either taught sixth grade, lost their position, or had their school closed. He was number 142 out of 160 people to pick a job for next year, so we were very worried about where he might end up next year. We were really hoping he would either end up at our school or at the middle school where our sixth graders were headed, but were definitely scared there wouldn't be anything open at either site with 141 people getting to pick a job before him. To our surprise; however, when it was his turn to pick, there was only one job left, out of the 25 on his list that he would be interested in, and it was a 4th/5th combo at our school!!! So, not only will we still be working together, but we will also be teaching the same grade level! Our prinicipal and staff were ecstatic to hear the news! I for one, was quite relieved; John does so much at our school, and it would have been impossible to fill his shoes! Many of our students have emailed me on myspace to make sure he was still going to be there next year, but I did have a couple of sad and disappointed emails when some of our alumni found out that he would NOT be going to the middle school. Jaclyn and I are so lucky to have such a wonderful man in our lives who makes such a difference with all of the students we work with!!!
