Marine World!!!

My Mom bought us season passes for Marine World last Christmas, and we've been getting our money's worth this month; we've been three times in the last 2 weeks! John and I went a couple of weeks ago when the weather was nice for a day, and we went with both our parents this last weekend. Here's some snapshots from all three trips: Here's Jaclyn with Daddy feeding the Sea Lions. This seems to be one of her favorite things to do right now at the park.
More of Jaclyn with her Daddy!

We weren't sure if she was old enough for the kiddie play area, but she ended up doing pretty well there. It was nice because she could run around on the soft turf and it didn't hurt her when she fell.

She got pretty brave and tried to climb up the stairs by herself. Mommy decided we weren't quite ready for that though; she needs Mommy to help a little longer, right?
We couldn't believe she was able to walk across the ropes by herself too! She could have cared less if I was sitting there or not, she wanted to explore! It was actually quite a bit of work keeping up with her, she's begun to walk away pretty quickly! It's days like these when we truly see how fast she is growing up.

Again, she wanted to go down the slide by herself, but Mommy was being a little protective.
She also loved playing with Daddy in the fountains!

Here's Mommy and Jaclyn on Day two of Marine World. This is the Sunday before Memorial Day. We went down with Grammie and Uncle Jake. This was her playing in the water fountains again.

Here she is soaking wet with her Grammie.

Back in the kiddie play area with Grammie and Daddy.

Did I mention she's gotten pretty good at climbing over things?

So, very cute story here! Jaclyn's newest word is "Khid-ty." We were so proud of her when she started calling the lion a Kitty, we all applauded and praised her for being so smart. Well, apparently, she really likes the attention when she does something impressive, so the rest of the day, any animal was called "Khid-ty." We figure, at least she knows they're all animals!

Here's one of the baby "Khid-ties." They were born last April.

And here was a really big "Khid-ty" sunbathing. She made everyone around us laugh as she called the huge walrus a kitty over and over again!

Here's Daddy and Jaclyn looking at the sturgeon outside the shark tank.

After looking at all the sharks and other fish, Jaclyn decided she wanted her Uncle Jake to carry her. It was really cute because she wasn't too sure about him when our trip first started, but actually reached out for him to hold her after seeing all the sharks.

Here's the beginning of Day 3 at Marine World. My parents came over early to go with her for Memorial Day. I dressed Jaclyn before I looked outside and realized that although it was in the 90's yesterday, today was actually quite chilly. So I had to change her into something warmer, but wanted a couple of pictures of her in this since she looked so cute.
Here's Jaclyn sitting in her chair that her friend Ashley gave her. Her newest "trick" is being able to walk backwards and sit in her seat. She does this over and over again to amuse herself, and us; it's hilarious!
Here's everyone looking at the sea lions again.

Here's Jaclyn and Mommy looking at some fish.

Here's Jaclyn with Grandma and Grandpa watching the Shouka Show. We watched part of the show yesterday with Grammie and Uncle Jake (Uncle Jake actually works with Shouka in the off-season), but she had to leave the show early because the sun was bothering her, so we figured today would be a great day to see the rest of the show.

This is the best angle I could get of Jaclyn and Grandma looking at the giraffes.

And this was our sign it was time to go home! Grandpa took a lot better pictures than I did, so I will have to get a copy of those and upload them later. We had a really fun time this weekend and are excited for all she will be able to do at the park when she gets older!

Daddy's 28th Birthday

Along with Easter, we also celebrated Daddy's 28th Birthday over the break. Our friends, Tommy, Randy, and Brian came over to go to an A's game along with Uncle Chris and Uncle Jake. Jaclyn really enjoyed hanging out with all of them......especially Tommy! During his visit, Tommy taught Jaclyn to say, "Uh Oh," which she says all the time now, and got involved in her favorite game, where she takes all the toys out of the barrell, right after Mommy cleans then up! What do you think? Does she look like she just got caught?
Here's all the boys and Jaclyn, right before the A's game.

Easter

As I'm sure you've noticed with our lack of posting on the blog, that we've been really busy this month. STAR testing began last week and we have been killing ourselves preparing our students for it. Fortunately, I finally got a chance this weekend to post Jaclyn's pictures from Easter. It was a lot more fun this year, as she was able to (sort of) hunt for Easter Eggs. Next year, I'm certain will be even better!
This year, we went to see my family on the Saturday before Easter, and then had John's family over on Sunday to celebrate Easter and John's Birthday. It was a good thing this weekend was the beginning of our Spring Break because it was definitely a busy one!
Jaclyn had a blast playing on her swing with Grandma!

Jaclyn got to experience her first easter egg hunt. She spent more time sitting and crawling in the grass, but it was still cute to watch her try!
She kept trying to put the eggs in her mouth; maybe this year was was too early to actually dye the eggs! They definitely made a mess! Here's a good shot of her Tinkerbell Basket; she didn't exactly grasp to concept of putting things INTO her basket, but she LOVED taking everything out of it!She was still pretty new at walking, so struggled a bit in the grass, but got a hang of it after awhile.Daddy was very happy that the first thing Jaclyn reached for in her basket was the baseball!

Jaclyn liked getting to meet Auntie Erin's new puppy, Porter!

On Sunday, Jaclyn got to open up another basket from Grammie!

She spent the day showing off her new skill of walking.

And had a chance to give lots of love to Grandpa!
These are probably the cutest pictures of the weekend...

She LOVES her Uncle Jake!

Jaclyn's 1st Birthday ~ Professional Pics!

Jaclyn had the BEST birthday, and we were able to recapture the best parts of it at her professional picture shoot this month. We took "before" pictures of her in her Birthday Tutu, and then "after" pictures with another piece of cake that we gave her to try all over again; she made an even bigger mess this time! It was such a cute idea and we were thrilled JCPenney actually let us do it in their studio! Hope you enjoy! Eating the cake started out similarly to the way it did at her party...
...but soon she decided to really dig in!
