Jaclyn's 10th Week

I saw this at Babies R Us and had to buy it for her!

Jaclyn's been smiling a lot lately...unfortunately, we still can't seem to get it on camera, no matter how hard we try!

...We get a lot of other funny looks though!

Half the time, I think she just wonders what in the world we are trying to do to her!

We went to my parents' house for a BBQ so that Jaclyn could meet her Great Grandma VanderWegen for the first time. Since we were all there, we decided to take a couple of 4 generation pictures. Here's Jaclyn with Mommy, Grandpa, and Great-Grandma Godfrey.

Here's Jaclyn tired of taking pictures already ;o)

Jaclyn has also discovered her thumb this week. She wakes up every morning with it in her mouth. We keep trying to trick her with a pacifier, but she definitely prefers her thumb; maybe we should've introduced the pacifier a little earlier.

The Baby Einstein Playmat is definitely Jaclyn's favorite right now. She LOVES the musical sun that lights up; she'll stare at it for hours.

Jaclyn's 9th Week

"Oh Boy! I get to go to Grandma and Grandpa's and meet the horses!"
I had a hair appointment in Sacramento, so my mom offered to watch Jaclyn. I got her dressed and ready to go to the ranch (my parents' home) for the first time, complete with the pink John Deere boots that her Grammy Tina bought her! She'll make a cute little "Weekend Cowgirl!"

Here's Jaclyn, Auntie Erin, and Foxy. Foxy was Mommy's competition Barrel Racing horse. Mommy won a lot of buckles off of her and now Grandma competes in "Mounted Shooting" on her. Grandma recently won, "Best All Around Cowgirl" on Foxy at her last shooting competition. Foxy's close to retirement though, which will make her a perfect first horse for Jaclyn!

Here's Foxy and Erin's Mustang Shoni checking Jaclyn out.

Shoni again, although Jaclyn looks a bit more interested in her thumb!

Here's Dixie, my dad's Paint. We've got 5 more horses at the house, but they didn't come out to visit in the little bit of time I would allow Jaclyn to be around them. Maybe next time, when she's a little older.

Grandma asked Grandpa to build Jaclyn a swingset at the house. Here's Jaclyn in the swing that they're going to use. I think it may be a while before she can sit on this on her own!
Jaclyn's been sleeping in her own room for the past month, but not in her crib. We've been puttin her bassinet inside the crib to get her used to it. We decided, this week, however to try her out in her actual crib, as she was getting too big for the bassinet. She did great!!! She looks so little in that big crib, but she actually sleeps better in it than she did in her bassinet. I think the extra room to move around makes her happy. She starts every night at the top of the crib, and scoots herself all the way down to the bottom before morning. It's the cutest thing to watch!

Mother's Day was this week as well. Jaclyn's turned two months old actually on Mother's Day, so we had the pictures taken professionally. We'll have those on the 20th to share with everyone; that'll be our next post!

Jaclyn's 8th Week

So...even though she's almost out of newborn clothes, I had to buy this onesie. If you can't read it, it says, "Mommy and I Love to SHOP!"

This dress was a hand-me-down from Nikki, I believe. I've been dying to get a picture of her in it, but havn't had an occasion to do so. I realized that she's going to outgrow it before I get around to putting her in it, so I decided to just dress her up and take pictures one day while we were at home. Good thing I did it now, it barely fit over her head as it was!

Jaclyn's beginning to become quite attached to her Pooh security blanket!

Larry was home for the weekend and got a chance to hold Jaclyn. He and Grammy came by to visit when Daddy was home alone with Jaclyn all day; Mommy was at a math training.

Daddy's not a big fan of pants with writing on the butt, but I think it's cute!
